An opportunity to learn about fly fishing, or improve your knowledge and skill in various aspects of fly fishing. Topics covered include:

  •  fly fishing overview and terminology
  •  hands-on casting led by FFF-Certified Instructors
  •  hands-on knots and leaders
  •  equipment and accessories needed for fresh and inshore saltwater fishing
  •  different types of flies for various types of fishing

Refreshments are also provided. If you have equipment, it is advised you bring it (best to learn on what you own).

However, for those who do NOT have equipment, the club has several sets of rods and reels available for use during this workshop.

Attendees can also sign up for membership in Acadiana Fly Rodders at a special discount rate of only $10.  Becoming a member of AFR is a great way to build on the fundamentals of this workshop!
